What is Amazon Prime Day and Week?
Amazon Prime Day is one of the biggest online sales of the year exclusively for Amazon Prime members. It’s an annual event sale that has been commonly held in summer with the exception of last year. In 2020 due to the pandemic Amazon Prime Day was pushed back into October. In most previous years it has been held in July. This year however, it looks like Amazon is getting an early start and holding the event at the end of June. Amazon Prime week is simply the week during which Amazon Prime Day is held.
When did Amazon Prime Day start?
Amazon Prime Day all started back in 2015, with a sale to celebrate their 20th Anniversary on July 15th. Their goal was to create a day where prime customers could get a deal surpassing that of Black Friday. So 10 years after the launch of Amazon’s prime subscription they launched Amazon Prime Day with great success. The first Prime Day lasted for 24 hours and they sold more than 34 million items. It has been an annual event ever since, creating a summer sale that has deals comparable to Black Friday.
When is Amazon prime Day 2021?
Although the official announcement hasn’t been made yet, unless there are some unexpected last minute changes it’s likely Amazon Prime Day will be June 21st and 22nd as well giving you 48 hours to find the stuff you want at some of the lowest prices of the year.
What is on sale?
As one of the two biggest online sales of the year almost anything you can find on Amazon will be on sale. This is a great time to purchase your big purchases you’ve been saving up for. If you’ve been thinking of getting that new TV or computer this is the time. Prices will be going to their lowest point and if you miss it you won’t get another opportunity until Black Friday rolls around in November. Hopefully you already have a Parcel Box so your items don’t get poached by porch pirates.
